Woman: SLED agent held her hostage before killing
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — A woman who authorities say was shot and killed by her state police agent boyfriend before he killed himself had said he held her hostage at gunpoint and sexually assaulted her less than a week earlier.
The Post and Courier of Charleston reported (http://bit.ly/pGYJ56) the woman asked investigators not to prosecute him because he was close to retirement.
The newspaper obtained reports from Berkeley County deputies that show Mary Ann Cox said she was held against her will by State Law Enforcement Division agent Charlie Boyette, who was angry the two broke up earlier this month.
Cox signed a form saying she did not want to prosecute Boyette and only wanted him to stay away from her.
Boyette killed Cox outside the Moncks Corner bank where she worked July 22.
