2 SC men accused of shooting man during robbery

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — A judge has set bond at $1 million each for two South Carolina men accused of forcing a 26-year-old man to his knees, beating him with a pistol and shooting him in the head.

The Post and Courier of Charleston reports Saturday (http://bit.ly/oQG8w6 ) that 23-year-old Donell Alston and 24-year-old Eric Thompson are charged with attempted murder and armed robbery. Arrest records accuse them of going to Jamaal Codrey’s house on Tuesday and demanding money. The victim told deputies he was shot when he broke free.

His sister told a judge Friday that $80 and a cell phone were stolen from her brother. She found him face down in a pool of blood.

Alston told the judge he is innocent. His mother sobbed during the hearing and asked for forgiveness.
