28-year-old man dies on I-85 in crash with pickup
GAFFNEY, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say a 28-year-old Connecticut man who recently moved to South Carolina for a job died after hitting a pick-up truck on Interstate 85.
Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler says Mithunrajbendo Lnu of Greenville died at the accident scene around midnight Friday.
Fowler says Lnu’s car veered off the road into the median, traveled under the cable barrier and continued into oncoming traffic. Fowler says he doesn’t know why.
Troopers say Lnu’s two passengers and two people in the truck were taken to a hospital.
Fowler says Lnu had moved from Bridgeport, Conn., about three months ago to work as a contractor for MetLife. He and his friends were on their way to Charlotte, N.C., to meet another friend.
Lnu died at the scene of blunt force head trauma.
