Family of SC man killed by officer wants answers
ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) — Relatives of a 50-year-old South Carolina man killed by an officer after a police chase say they want answers.
The Times and Democrat of Orangeburg reports Saturday (http://bit.ly/opJ1r7 ) that the family of Warren Robinson wants to know what led to his death Thursday. She says no one from law enforcement has contacted the family.
Orangeburg County Coroner Samuetta Marshall says an officer shot Robinson.
Denmark Police Chief Leroy Grimes says the officer is on administrative leave, as per protocol pending an investigation. He declined to comment further.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is investigating.
A police report says a car chase started about 4:45 p.m. Thursday, and Bamberg County officers asked Orangeburg County officers to assist. Robinson died at the scene.
The part-time minister and bricklayer lived in Norway.
