SC man dies after bar fight, 2 arrested
SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Authorities have charged two men with killing a man found unconscious outside a popular nightclub.
The Post and Courier of Charleston reports Sunday (http://bit.ly/pVblhZ) that 25-year-old Justin Johnson of Summerville and 26-year-old Jonathan Powell of Ladson are charged with voluntary manslaughter.
The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office says 35-year-old Richard Duttine of Summerville was assaulted outside the Moonshine Saloon about 1:45 a.m. Saturday. He died at a hospital about 12 hours later.
The sheriff’s office says a fourth man involved in the fight was treated at the scene and released.
Sheriff’s spokesman Dan Moon declined to say what caused the fight or whether weapons were involved.
Johnson and Powell were in the Berkeley County jail awaiting a bond hearing Sunday night. It was unclear if they had attorneys.
