BEAUFORT, S.C. (AP) — A man has been sentenced to five years of probation in connection with embezzling $210,000 from the Beaufort County Treasurer’s Office.

The Beaufort Gazette reported http://bit.ly/rh7fk7 Adrian Coore was sentenced after pleading guilty to three counts of receiving stolen goods. Word of the sentence came in a presentation Monday by prosecutor Duffie Stone to Beaufort County Council.

Stone says Coore helped a former employee of the treasurer’s office, Casaundra White, funnel $210,000 from public accounts into dummy corporations.

White pleaded guilty earlier this year two counts of embezzling and two counts of criminal conspiracy. She received 13 months in prison and five years of probation.
