Body of Pelzer man found in Saluda River

WILLIAMSTON, S.C. (AP) — The body of a Pelzer man missing for three days has been found in the Saluda River near Williamston.

The body of 29-year-old Zachary Wayne Thompson was found late Tuesday morning near a Duke Energy power station.

Anderson County sheriff’s spokesman Chad McBride says Thompson had last been seen Saturday near the river.

An autopsy is planned to determine the cause of death.
