South Carolina’s Clowney faces noise ticket

ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney has a court date next month in Rock Hill to deal with a noise violation ticket he was given last month.

The ticket was issued to Clowney during a traffic stop on the afternoon of July 2.

Clowney was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday, but Clerk of Court Diane Anderson says he requested a delay because of football practice.

The new hearing is set for Sept. 26.

Rock Hill’s noise ordinance prohibits music from being played so it can be heard 50 feet away.

The maximum penalty for the ticket is a fine of $330 or 30 days in jail.

There is no indication Clowney has retained an attorney.
