Williamsburg County woman dies in house fire

SALTERS, S.C. (AP) — A Williamsburg County woman has died in a house fire.

The Morning News of Florence reported (http://bit.ly/o62pxV) that 55-year-old Edith Scott of Salters died in the fire Saturday night.

Deputy Coroner Vernell Fulton says Scott died at the scene.

An autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of death. Fulton thinks the woman died from smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
