3-year-old boy drowns in Spartanburg County pool
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — Spartanburg County officials say a 3-year-old boy has apparently drowned after falling into a swimming pool.
Sheriff’s deputies, paramedics and firefighters were called to the home shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday.
Authorities say David Fisher III was taken to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
.A sheriff’s report says the boy’s foster father was doing yard work while his wife was inside with their three other foster children. When the parents discovered the boy was missing, they went to property they own next door and found the boy face down at the deep end of the swimming pool.
Sheriff’s Lt. Tony Ivey says it appears the drowning was an accident.
An autopsy was planned Monday.
