Coast Guard picks up man 70 miles off SC coast

GEORGETOWN, S.C. (AP) — A Coast Guard helicopter has transported a man from a fishing boat about 70 miles off the South Carolina coast to a hospital.

The Coast Guard in Charleston received a call shortly after 11 a.m. on Tuesday and a helicopter reached the boat about an hour later to pick up the 39-year-old man.

The man, who had suffered a seizure, was taken to Georgetown Hospital. His condition wasn’t immediately known.
