FBI, security alliance focus on white collar crime
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — A seminar on how to detect fraud in a high-tech world is being sponsored by the FBI and a South Carolina alliance of companies that works to increase the security of society’s infrastructure.
The conference being held Monday at The Citadel in Charleston features Frank Abagnale (AB’-big-nail), an authority on forgery, embezzlement and secure documents.
Abagnale gained his knowledge as one of the world’s most famous con men of the 1960s, an experience captured in the book and film “Catch Me If You Can” starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks.
Abagnale now lectures and consults on security with banks, corporations and government agencies worldwide.
The conference on white collar crime is being sponsored by the FBI and South Carolina InfraGard Member Alliance.
