2 Conway men arrested on video poker charges
CONWAY, S.C. (AP) — Two Conway men have been arrested and charged with operating a gaming house.
Horry County police Sgt. Robert Kegler says 56-year-old Fonzie Lewis and 45-year-old Allen Grady Jordan were charged after five video poker machines were seized from a convenience store outside Conway last week.
Police say Lewis was arrested Monday and Jordan turned himself in to officers Tuesday.
Kegler says officers had gotten complaints about possible illegal gaming at the store. Officers also seized nearly $700 in cash.
Kegler says a magistrate will look at the machines to determine if they are illegal gaming devices.
