Anderson University basketball players dies

ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) — An Anderson University basketball player has died three days after collapsing during a preseason workout.

Athletics spokesman Randy Jones said that 19-year-old Lamar Jack died at an Anderson hospital Monday.

Authorities say a blood clot in his Lung appears to have caused Jack to collapse Friday, but an autopsy will be conducted Wednesday to determine the exact cause of death.

Jack didn’t play last season after having knee surgery.

University President Evans P. Whitaker announced Jack’s death to students, thanking all of them who cried and prayed for him over the past few days.
