SC police find toddler with pellet gun in car
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — A North Charleston man has been arrested after police say they found a young boy with a pellet gun when they approached a stolen, abandoned sports utility vehicle.
Twenty-three-year-old Terrence Myers has been charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, illegal conduct toward a child and possession of marijuana.
Police say officers spotted the stolen vehicle and found it abandoned a few minutes later, with the child inside.
Investigators say the driver had called the boy’s mother and she came to the scene. Officers say she told them where to find Myers.
Myers was being held in the Charleston County jail. It was unclear if he has an attorney.
Police returned the boy to his mother after consulting with the Department of Social Services.
