2 plead guilty in Clover home invasion shooting
YORK, S.C. (AP) — Two men have pleaded guilty to charges in connection with a deadly home invasion shooting in York County earlier this year.
Prosecutors say 20-year-old Justin Nathaniel Lamarr pleaded guilty to first-degree burglary, assault and battery, conspiracy and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Lamarr was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Seventeen-year-old Jeffrey Garrett Gillespie pleaded guilty last month to a marijuana charge and accessory charge. He has not been sentenced.
Police say Lamarr, Gillespie and 17-year-old Christina Marie Sayers were involved in a break-in at Cody Millwood’s home in Clover.
Police say Millwood fired his gun during the confrontation and Sayers died from her injuries.
Lamarr was injured in the shooting and was treated in a Gaston County, N.C., hospital.
