SC coroner says 4 shooting victims all related

LIBERTY, S.C. (AP) — A South Carolina coroner says the four people shot to death at adjacent mobile homes in Pickens County were members of the same family.

Pickens County Coroner Kandy Kelley said Saturday the shootings in Liberty involve a father and two sons along with their step-grandmother.

Pickens County Assistant Sheriff Tim Morgan said after the shooting early Friday that a man called his mother and told her he was going to kill himself. Morgan said initial signs point to the man killing the three family members and then committing suicide.

The sheriff’s office didn’t immediately return messages Saturday seeking information about the case.

The coroner says the victims are 20-year-old Marshall Hendricks, 52-year-old Mark Hendricks, 23-year-old Matthew Hendricks, and 64-year-old Linda Ann Burns.

Autopsies of the victims are scheduled for Sunday.
