Traffic shift on I-385 delayed until November
GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Rain over the past few weeks has delayed a planned traffic shift on Interstate 385 south of Greenville.
Construction crews widening the highway south of I-85 say it will now be November before they shift southbound traffic to the northbound side between mile markers 35 and 30. Crews say rain last week and predictions of more heavy rain this week prompted the delay.
When the traffic changes are made, officials say the new traffic pattern will remain in place until next spring.
The Department of Transportation says two lanes of traffic in both directions will remain open.
The construction will be marked with traffic cones and signs. Drivers are asked to be aware of equipment and crews working in the area.
