Deadly accident claims another child’s life

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — A second child has died after a weekend car accident that killed her 7-year-old brother. Lexington County Coroner Harry Harman stated Tuesday morning that 10-year-old Haley Upchurch that the child died at the hospital. The Highway Patrol has been investigating the two-vehicle wreck that took place 8:30 p.m. Friday night on South Lake Drive in Lexington. According to Coroner Harry O. Harman, the two children were riding in a 1992 Chevrolet Lumina traveling eastbound on South Lake Drive. Officials say they were turning into a driveway when they were struck by a 2000 Dodge truck traveling westbound. Officials say Robert Craft has been charged with felony DUI. He is at the Lexington County Detention Center. An investigation is on-going.
