Spurrier Hopes To Be USC’s All-Time Winningest Coach

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — The rumor mill calmed down on Thursday after internet reports hinted that Steve Spurrier may be out as Carolina head football coach at the end of the season. On his weekly radio show Thursday night, Spurrier didn’t sound too surprised a story like this would arise as he brushed it off with a positive outlook of his future in Columbia. “I really hope to coach about three more years,” Spurrier told the Gamecock Radio Network Thursday night. “My goal is to be the winningest coach here and I’m still about 14 or 15 games away, so it will take a couple more years.” The Gamecocks visit Arkansas on Saturday night at 7:15pm. The game will be televised by ESPN. Injury News: Antonio Allen (neck) sat out of practice again on Thursday, but is expected to play at Arkansas on Saturday.
