(WOLO) — Furman’s 20-10 upset against 3rd-ranked Appalachian St. highlights a busy Saturday for SC small colleges. The Paladins (6-3, 4-2 SoCon) jumped out to a 20-0 lead. Furman QB Chris Forcier accounted for 288 total yards. Former Ridge View standout Brian Quick caught 4 passes for 60 yards for the Mountaineers. 9th-ranked Wofford rolls up 500 yards rushing at Western Carolina en route to a 42-24 win. The Terriers improve to 7-2 overall, 5-1 in the Southern Conference. Other results from around the state:Citadel’s upset bid at #4 Georgia Southern falls short, 14-12. Coastal Carolina beats Presbyterian 15-8. Charleston Southern remains winless on the season losing to Stony Brook, 50-31. Newberry falls at Lenoir-Rhyne 54-42. Benedict loses its final game of the season, 19-13 to Lane College.
