Spurrier Talks Capital One Bowl In Orlando

Orlando, FL (WOLO) — The Ball Coach is back in Florida but he didn’t bring his Ol’ swagger with him. During his heyday at the University of Florida, Steve Spurrier famously jabbed Tennessee’s program for its inability to play for a national championship saying, “You can’t spell Citrus without U-T.” Now that Spurrier’s South Carolina team is playing Nebraska in this year’s Capital One Bowl, the game formerly known as the Citrus Bowl, the Ball Coach is singing a very different tune. “We’re honored. We’re thrilled. We’re excited to be in the Capital One Bowl,” Spurrier said at a preview press conference in Orlando Thursday. “I think this is the highest-rated bowl game in the history of our school (USC). I know it’s the highest payout so we’re all fired up up there in Columbia, S.C. and our state.” USC (10-2) will play Nebraska (9-3) on January 2nd at 1 p.m. on ESPN.
