Gamecocks Appear on Rock Hill Party Flier

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) — A Rock Hill business establishment has put out a flier with the images and names of two Gamecock football players, freshman defensive end Jadeveon Clowney and senior defensive back C.C. Whitlock. This could result in a potential NCAA violation since a business is using an athlete’s image and name to make money. A South Carolina official has told ABC Columbia that the school is aware of the flier and looking into the situation. The same situation happened to Clemson freshman wide receiver Sammy Watkins earlier this month. Watkins was investigated by the NCAA and Clemson sent a cease and desist letter to the nightclub promoting the Tiger freshman. Watkins is still eligible to play in the Orange Bowl and Clemson has not been handed any NCAA penalty.
