Future Gamecocks Get Stage At All-American Game

St. Petersburg, FL (WOLO) — The circle of life rolls on for Gamecock football. On a day where USC juniors Alshon Jeffery and Stephon Gilmore announced their decisions to leave early for the NFL draft, two possible replacements took the stage at Under Armour’s High School All-America Game. Lexington standout Shaq Roland’s third quarter touchdown catch helped the White Team dominate the Black Team in the exhibition, 49-16. Just minutes before Roland caught his TD, Georgia defensive back Chaz Elder made a verbal commitment to Carolina. Elder picked the Gamecocks over his home-state Bulldogs.
