Divers from the Richland County Sheriff’s Department recovered the body. Authorities have not released the man’s name, but authorities say he had not been in the water long and appeared to be homeless.
Police say they have arrested a man as part of their investigation. Peter Edward Chalers has been charged with accessory after the fact of murder.
It wasn’t immediately known if Chalers had an attorney.
