COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — After months of waiting, we now know what prosecutors say detectives found in Zinah Jennings’ car back in December, just days after her then 18 month old son, Amir Jennings was reported missing. In previous, heavily redacted search warrants, police reported finding blankets with stains consistent with blood. Monday, in a Richland County courtroom, prosecutors stated that blood was Amir’s. They also stated cadaver dogs made “hard-hits” on Zinah Jennings’ car. Jennings’ attorney Hemphill Pride, II wants the evidence thrown out and has filed motions to do so, as he says it would hurt his clients case. Pride also filed a motion to have Jennings’ psychiatric records, reportedly obtained by the prosecution, thrown out as well. At this time, neither the prosecution nor the defense are talking about the case. ABC Columbia News has learned that the search for Amir Jennings hasn’t turned up anything new. Richland County Judge Knox McMahon is expected to rule on the motions Monday, August 6, 2012. A trial date for this case has been set for August 27, 2012.
