Cops: Sibling stabbing began as fight over glasses

ST. HELENA ISLAND, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say a St. Helena Island man’s stabbing death at the hands of his sister began as a fight over broken glasses.

The Beaufort Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/QyWKrn) that 35-year-old Desmond Holmes was arguing with his 43-year-old sister, Gennece Green, on Friday night over money and a pair of broken glasses. Investigators say Holmes assaulted his older sister before she stabbed him as they fought on the porch of their mother’s home.

Deputies say a family cookout was going on at the time. No charges have been filed, and authorities say they are still investigating.
