Search continues for man missing on Lake Keowee

SENECA, S.C. (AP) — Authorities are continuing their search for a 22-year-old Indiana man missing on Lake Keowee in South Carolina for about two days and presumed drowned.

Oconee County Emergency Services, the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office, and the state Department of Natural Resources are planning to use dogs as part of the search for Brian Lewis Smith when they start looking at 8 a.m. Monday.

Smith is from Anderson, Ind. Officials say he was last seen early Saturday morning, and a paddleboat he had been using was found several hours later.

Oconee County Emergency Management Director Scott Krein says divers, boats and a helicopter were used in the search for Smith over the weekend.
