Man Found Dead in Lake Hartwell Near Seneca

SENECA, S.C. (AP) _ Authorities say a 52-year-old man who disappeared after walking away from his friends has been found dead in Lake Hartwell. Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis said one of the friends ended up finding Gregory Yown’s body in the lake early Tuesday morning just off state Highway 93. Addis says an autopsy shows Yown died from drowning, but his body also had some injuries that could have happened in a fall. The coroner says it isn’t clear if Yown was swimming or just fell in the lake. Addis ruled the death an accident. It is the sixth drowning in Oconee County this year, and the second in the past three days.
