Man stabbed near Columbia church, suspect on the run

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — A suspect is on the run after a man was stabbed near Ebenezer Lutheran Church in downtown Columbia Saturday evening. Columbia Police Chief Randy Scott says the stabbing took place at 6:00 p.m. Saturday at the 1300 block of Richland Street. Chief Scott says that apparently two men had just finished eating dinner at the church when they started to argue. The suspect then stabbed the victim in the abdomen and arm. The chief also adds that in the preliminary investigation, both men have no known permanent address. The man who was stabbed is at the hospital and is undergoing surgery.
