Students move in to USC’s Columbia campus

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Sidewalks and streets near the University of South Carolina are bound to be crowded as 6,800 undergraduate students move into their residence halls.
Students are entering the major dormitories along Bull, Barnwell and Pendleton streets on Saturday, when volunteer staff members and faculty assist in the moves.
A new twist this year puts the International House in Maxcy College. It will serve as the only internationally-themed residence hall on the campus.
Saturday marks the beginning of a week of activities for new and returning students, including Convocation on Sunday and a special gathering for students at the Thomas Cooper Library.
