Police asking for help in Wheat Street assault

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Columbia Police are trying to find three persons of interest after investigators say a woman and a man were assaulted on Wheat Street. Officers report that the victims were walking home from Five Points around 2 a.m. on Sunday, August 19. That’s when investigators say the couple was attacked by three men. Officers say the male victim was hit in the face repeatedly, which resulted in a broken nose, cheekbone, and black eyes.
