Sheriff plans update on missing Columbia teen
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott plans to give an update on the investigation into a 15-year-old girl who has been missing for more than a week.
Lott scheduled a news conference Tuesday in the Gabrielle Swainson case.
The teen was last seen by her mother asleep in their Columbia home on Aug. 18 when she went to work. When the mom returned several hours later, her daughter’s alarm clock was ringing, but she was nowhere to be found.
The family says the teen took no clothes, and the only thing missing from the home was her cellphone.
The FBI and state agents have joined the search for the teen.
