2 Men Charged with Murder in SC Women’s Deaths
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) – Two men have been charged in the deaths of two women whose bodies were found in the Francis Marion National Forest. Berkeley County deputies said Saturday that 23-year-old Caleb Brad Matlock of Summerville and 23-year-old Arthur Ray Chavis of Cordesville have been charged with murder. The body of 18-year-old Dana Woods was found August 28 near her burned-out car. The body of her friend, 22-year-old June Guerry, was found several days later about 10 miles away. Authorities say both women are from St. Stephen and had been shot. The women were last seen August 26 after going out for fast food in Moncks Corner. Authorities have not discussed possible motives for the shootings. Both men were in jail Sunday, and it wasn’t clear if the men had attorneys. (Copyright 2012 The Associated Press.
