Spike in Gas Prices Expected to Ease

(WOLO) COLUMBIA,S.C., — Labor Day weekend is the unofficial end to the summer. And while most people like to enjoy their last weekend of freedom by traveling the roller coaster ride of prices have made that difficult. We spoke with several drivers about the price they’re paying for gas and most agree it has effected their plans and kept them closer to home. USC Student, Kelsey McKinney says she is on a budget and since she never knows what the gas prices are going to be day to day, it’s always a guessing game. ” It just changes how much i am able to go out to eat and things like that…gas is more important than anything else.” Luckily, analysts say by the end of the year price of gas could soon begin a downward spiral. Oil refineries which temporarily closed in preparation of Hurricane Isaac are now re-opening. In addition, companies will soon start switching from the summer blend to the much cheaper winter blend of gas which could drive prices down to 3 dollars 25 cents by December.
