Suspect arrested in early morning deadly shooting

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) — Richland County Deputies have arrested and charged a man in connection with a deadly shooting that happened Thursday morning. Deputy Curtis Wilson says 38-year-old David Lambert, Jr. has been charged with murder. At 2 a.m. Thursday morning, investigators say they received a call about shots being fired at 3976 Leesburg Road. When deputies arrived on the scene, they discovered a man shot in the upper body. The victim was transported by EMS to Palmetto Richland where he later died. A preliminary investigation shows the shooting may have stemmed from a verbal altercation. The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is continuing the investigation.
