Scam Alert Via Phone/E-mail
NEWBERRY COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – The Newberry County Sheriff’s Office has issued a warning to its residents…that scammers are after your money. It says people have called or sent out e-mails identifying themselves as law enforcement officers. They go on to say you’re in trouble, but if you send money, the charged against you will be dropped. You’re asked not to respond and to report the activity to the sheriff’s office.
