Body of Missing South Carolina Swimmer Recovered

BEAUFORT, S.C. (AP) _ Authorities have recovered the body of a man who disappeared while swimming in Beaufort County on Memorial Day. A spokesman for the state Department of Natural Resources says the body of 28-year-old Steven Wright Jr. was found late Wednesday morning in Wimbee Creek in northern Beaufort County. He was found about a mile from where he was last seen swimming on Monday. The death was one of three on waterways in the South Carolina Lowcountry over the holiday weekend. On Tuesday, authorities in Berkeley County recovered the bodies of two fishermen who disappeared in the Cooper River on Saturday.
