Man dies in hit and run incident in Forest Acres

FOREST ACRES, S.C. (AP) — A man has died after he was apparently struck be a vehicle in a Columbia suburb.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts says 44-year-old Charles Leroy Brown died while in surgery early Sunday in a Columbia hospital.

Watts says it appears Brown was a pedestrian whose body was found in a road around 10 p.m. Saturday.

Brown was taken to Palmetto Health Richland hospital where he died.

Forest Acres police are treating the death as an apparent hit-and-run.
