Dr. Umar Johnson on The Status of African-Americans in Education: Recent Occurances in K-12 and in Higher Education Today
The Sphinx Paw Lecture Series is proud to present Dr. Umar Johnson – Author of Psycho-Academic Holocaust: The Special Education & ADHD Wars Against Black Boys – on Saturday, June 22 at 7 p.m., at The Next -N- Line Event Hall (6108 Two Notch Road in Columbia, SC). Dr. Johnson, a blood relative of the great Black abolitionist and orator Frederick Douglass, is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist who practices privately throughout Pennsylvania and lectures throughout the country. He is considered an expert on learning disabilities and their effect on Black children, as well as an expert on helping schools and parents modify challenging behaviors that can ultimately lead to disruptive behavior disorder diagnoses in Black boys. He is also an important contributor to the popular Hidden Colors film series.
