Two die from speeding
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — It has been a busy weekend for the Richland County Coroner’s office as two people’s identities were confirmed from two different wrecks during the weekend. Coroner Gary Watts says on Friday morning, a man named William Rew was driving on Longtown Road in northern Richland County when the car ran off the road and hit a tree. Rew was declared dead at the scene. The Highway Patrol is investigating this crash. Then on Saturday, the Coroner says that a man was driving on Clement Road, which is near Broad River Road. While the driver has been identified by the office, it has not released the name of the individual because family members have not been reached. Gary Watts says the Hispanic man’s last known address was in Blythewood. Columbia Police officers are continuing to look into the crash. The Coroner adds that both crashes likely tied to speeding.
