2 die in wreck near Batesburg-Leesville
BATESBURG-LEESVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Two people have been killed in a wreck on US 178 in Batesburg-Leesville.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol says a third person in the car was hurt.
Troopers say the wreck happened shortly before midnight Monday.
The dead were a 49-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman from Batesburg Leesville. Their names have not been released.
Trooper Brent Kelly says none of the people in the car was wearing a seat belt.
Troopers say the car ran off the road, hit a tree and overturned several times.
A 45-year-old Batesburg-Leesville man was taken to Lexington Medical Center for treatment. His name has not been released.
