Man dead after shooting in Bamberg

BAMBEG, S.C. (AP) — Police are investigating the shooting death of a man in Bamberg.

Bamberg Assistant Police Chief Doug Kirby tells the Times and Democrat of Orangeburg (http://bit.ly/1dUNnudi ) that 38-year-old Gene James Anderson of Bamberg was shot just before 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Anderson died after being taken to the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg.

Kirby says authorities have identified a person of interest but they are still trying to piece together the details of the shooting.
