Deadly Fire In West Columbia

Columbia, SC (Lexington County Fire Department)-One person has died after a fire at a home near West Columbia.  Authorities said 65-year-old Nancye Harrell was the only person in the home at the time of the blaze. An autopsy determined she died from carbon monoxide poisoning and burns.   The fire was reported shortly before 6 a.m. Tuesday. Lexington County Fire Chief Brad Cox says it took firefighters about 45 minutes to control the flames.  The cause of the fire is still under investigation.  No other injuries were reported.
