Hit-and-Run Victim: “They know they did it.”
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — “They know they did it, whoever hit me,” says Marianne Frazier, hit and run victim.
Frazier says a walk on Trenholm Road Monday afternoon, almost turned deadly.
“The victim says she was walking along this sidewalk and a trash can was here, so she stepped to go around it and that’s when she says a car hit her,” says Frazier
She says the accident left her with cracked ribs and a concussion. The Columbia Police Department responded to the scene, according to a traffic report the car who hit Frazier was red in color, but faded.
Frazier says while she is angry that someone hit and her kept going, she has found irony in the situation.
“It’s just amazing how much kindness, that humans show each other,” says Frazier
She’s talking about those who did stop Monday.
“I was on the ground, one lady who was a student, she was holding my head to keep me straight. Another kind lady, she was I think studying to be a student. She held my hand saying, it’s going to be okay,” says Frazier
She says for those individuals, she’s grateful.
“I definitely want to thank the people who stopped and helped me and spoke to me until the ambulance arrived. I had no idea who the people are, I don’t know if I’ll ever meet them again, but I really thank them for how good they were to me,” says Frazier.
The Columbia Police Department is investigating.
