Local Spaghetti Company Give to Schools

(WOLO) COLUMBIA, S.C., —
It’s one of the most popular brand of Spaghetti and it’s made right here in Columbia. While you may have passed in it an aisle or served it up for dinner, for the 3rd year in a row The Mueller’s Pasta Plant is cooking up a way to help South Carolina Schools.
Mueller’s Pasta has teamed up with South Carolina Future Minds to offer all state schools a chance to apply for a spaghetti night – on them. The goal, to bring dinner time type conversation to the classroom giving parents, teachers and students a new way to connect. Representatives say it also helps them feed some of the 27 percent of children in risk of going hungry.
Mueller’s Plant says it is a labor or love they look forward to taking part in. Since 2011, the organizations have been able to donate more than 14 tons of pasta to hundreds of schools throughout the state. Each school can qualify for one free meal a year.
