Man found dead in West Columbia apartment fire

WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Investigators are trying to determine what caused an apartment fire that killed a man in West Columbia. Authorities said the blaze started around 8 p.m. Thursday at the Granby Oaks Apartments and destroyed eight units in one building. Firefighters say they found a body in one of the apartments, and several other people went to the hospital suffering from smoke inhalation. The name of the victim has not been released.
