SC man charged with felony DUI in fatal crash
ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) — A 26-year-old St. Matthews man is charged with felony driving under the influence in a crash that killed one of his passengers. The Times and Democrat of Orangeburg reports (http://bit.ly/1ct0ioD ) that Barry Walter Quattlebaum was charged Monday in a Sept. 14 crash that killed 21-year-old Sarah Ann Comer of Hickory Grove. It wasn’t immediately clear if he has an attorney. Quattlebaum faces a maximum of 25 years in prison and a $25,000 fine if he is convicted. Authorities say Quattlebaum had more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system. Officials say Quattlebaum’s truck ran off a road in Calhoun County, overcorrected and struck several trees.
