South Congaree to Elect New Mayor/Councilman

SOUTH CONGAREE, S.C. (WOLO) – South Congaree residents will head to the polls Tuesday to decide who will run their town, but they’re casting their ballots in a different location.

Instead of town hall, voting will take place at Ebenezer Pentecostal Church Youth Center between 7am and 7pm.

-Brian Jackson
-Josh Shumpert
-Jerry Smith

The winner will replace Jerry McCormick who stepped down in May.
His resignation came after federal agents raided South Congaree Town Hall.

Former Councilman Richard Green also decided to leave his position around that time.

That means voters will elect one of these three people as their new town councilman.
