Website War Launches Between Gubernatorial Candidates
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Political bickering via the internet is as common as old-fashioned door-to-door mudslinging. State republicans and state democrats launch a website for their gubernatorial candidate, some 15 months prior to the 2014 election.
The South Carolina Republican Party and the South Carolina Democratic Party throw blows at the competition. The GOP touts via its website, vincesheheen.com that democratic gubernatorial opponent and state senator, Vincent Sheheen, is a job killer who raises taxes and sues businesses. A Twitter account was even created to simulate tweets coming from the senator, that are not actually from him.
The Dems launched nikkihaleyfacts.com last week. That site claims the first term governor gets a failing grade in the areas of jobs and the economy, corruption and ethics and infrastructure and public education.
